The Ministry of Education of China has released a list of national colleges and universities in 2021. As of September 30, 2021, there are a total of 3,012 colleges and universities nationwide, including 1,270 undergraduate colleges, 1,486 vocational colleges, and 256 adult colleges and universities. This list does not include institutions of higher learning in Taiwan Province, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macau Special Administrative Region.
