There is only one China in the world, the government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory. Nicaragua is an important country in Central America. The Nicaraguan government recognizes and promises to abide by the one-China principle, sever so-called “diplomatic relations” with Taiwan, restore diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China, and promise not to have any official relations with Taiwan or conduct any official exchanges.
