Zhao Ting Becomes The First Chinese Female Director To Win The Golden Globe Award

On the morning of March 1st, Beijing time, the 78th Golden Globe Awards were announced. Chinese female director Zhao Ting won the Golden Globe Best Director Award for “A Place Without a Rest”. It is reported that she is the first Asian female director to win this award.
“Nowhere” starring Oscar winner Francis McDormand tells the story of a 60-year-old woman who lost everything in the Great Depression, as a modern nomad living in a motorhome A story across the American West. As Zhao Ting’s third feature film, “A Place Without a Dependence” won the Best Film “Golden Lion Award” at the 2020 Venice Film Festival.
Earlier this month, the full list of nominations for the 2021 Golden Globe Awards in the United States was announced. “A Place to Nowhere” received 4 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Screenplay.
