More Than 800 Firefighters Rush Out Of a Forest Fire In Shangri-La

On March 29, 2020, two forest fires occurred in Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province. At 14:30 on the 29th, a forest fire broke out in the collective forest in the second group of the rice farm in Jinxing Village, Hutiaoxia Town, Shangri-La City, Diqing Prefecture. At 16:50, a forest fire broke out in the Songyuan Group of the Shangri-La Economic Development Zone community in Diqing Prefecture.
After the fire broke out, the Diqing Prefecture Party Committee and State Government attached great importance to quickly mobilizing and organizing fire suppression teams and immediately launched fire suppression work. Due to the strong wind and uncertain wind direction on the site, and the fire occurred on a high mountain slope, the terrain was dangerous, which brought great difficulties to the fight.
At present, more than 800 people, such as fire fighters, police officers and surrounding supporters, are fighting the scene. Two forest fires, one of which has been effectively extinguished, and the other is being extinguished with full force. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
