“Wuhan, we are back.” At 0:24 on March 28, the K81 train from Xi’an to Guangzhou stopped at Wuchang Railway Station, and three returning migrant workers came out of the car. This announced that Wuhan ’s three major railway stations, Wuchang, Hankou, and Wuhan, had officially resumed passenger service after 65 days of suspension, which opened the curtain of “Wuhan people” stranded outside taking train home.
On the same day, whistle sounded at the three major railway stations: the first train—the D9302 train of Hanyi Railway—carried 577 passengers; the first train of the Han ten high-speed train G6860 came from Xiangyang to reach the passengers 798; the first intercity train—the Wuhan-Huanggang intercity train C5604, carried more than 400 passengers into Wuhan Station; the first Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed train that finally arrived in Wuhan arrived and sent 258 passengers stranded in Guangdong Back to Wuhan.
According to statistics from the Wuhan Railway Department, there were more than 260 trains passing through Wuhan on the 28th, and more than 60,000 passengers arrived in Han. The trains from outside the province to Han mainly come from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Chengdu, Zhengzhou and other big cities. The operating routes are Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway, Shanghai-Han-Rong railway, Beijing-Kowloon railway, Beijing-Guangzhou railway, etc. The trains mainly come from Yichang, Xiangyang, Huanggang, Huangshi and other places, and the operating lines include Han-Yi Railway, Han-Ten High Speed ​​Rail, Wugang Intercity, Wujiu Passenger College and so on.
“Although the number of trains to Han is only one-fourth of the usual, this means that Wuhan people stranded in all parts of the country can come back by train.” A person in charge of China Railway Wuhan Bureau Group Co., Ltd. introduced that currently the main return to Han is in Wuhan. With the orderly resumption of work and production in Wuhan, many people are eager to return to Wuhan. In the future, the number of trains to Han will gradually increase, allowing more passengers to return to Han.
On April 8th, Wuhan will officially resume the passenger delivery business of the three major railway stations, and then Wuhan’s external traffic will be fully restored. The railway department revealed that trains destined for the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions will be given priority to meet the needs of migrant workers.
