A: China firmly supports WHO ’s leading role in global anti-epidemic cooperation and welcomes WHO ’s global cooperation initiative on accelerating the development, production, and equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines and drugs, and decided to participate in this initiative.
Viruses know no borders, people of all countries have equal access to vaccines and medicines. After the outbreak, China shared COVID-19 virus genome information with other countries in the world for the first time, established a platform for sharing data and scientific research results, and actively carried out international cooperation in drug and vaccine research and development, making important contributions to vaccine and drug research and development in various countries.
As the most authoritative and professional international institution in the field of global public health security, WHO plays an irreplaceable key role in responding to the global public health crisis. China is willing to work with the international community to accelerate the development and production of COVID-19 medical products, promote the fair distribution of related products, and make efforts to maintain global health security and combat the epidemic.
