A Netizen In Beijing Was Detained For 40 People Who Died In An Epidemic

On the afternoon of June 19, the 126th COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control work in Beijing was held. Pan Xuhong, deputy director of the Beijing Public Security Bureau and press spokesperson, reported on the handling of rumors involving epidemic situations. The reporter learned that there was one case in which a netizen, 31 years old and unemployed, deliberately released false information for the death of more than 40 people in order to vent personal dissatisfaction. He has now been administratively detained by the Fangshan Public Security Bureau according to law.
